Roberto Bonaccorso

Roberto Bonaccorso is a musician, writer, and musical instrument builder. He is originally from Puerto La Cruz, Venezuela and has lived in Seattle since 1997. He was a member and founder of the Latin septet MangoSon and performs with the traditional Venezuelan quartet Mochima and the Afro-Peruvian ensemble DeCajón Project. Roberto is self-taught and plays cuatro, guitar, tres, mandolin and dabbles in percussion. He has been a semi-professional luthier since 2009, specializing in acoustic and solid-body Venezuelan cuatros. Roberto has a B.A. in history from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, and has worked as a print journalist and public relations professional since 1990.
